On Saturday, February 01 at 12.30pm a man broke into the Pineapple Inn on High Street, New Mills.
Once inside he kicked through an internal door and threatened a man who was asleep inside and hit him with a wooden stick.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon and a 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and damage and public order offences.
They appeared at North East Derbyshire and Dales Magistrates Court on Monday, February 03 and were remanded in prison custody. They are due to appear at Derby Crown Court on Monday, February 17.
